MANAMA: A competition that focuses on promoting excellence in coffee making and the barista profession is being held today and tomorrow at the Seef Mall.
Organised jointly by Khalid Almoayed and Sons (KAS) and Projekt8, the Bahrain Coffee Championship is to judge the best baristas from hotels, restaurants and cafes across Bahrain.
Qualified and certified judges from around the world will evaluate each performance on the flavour of beverages served, hygiene, creativity, technical skill and overall presentation.

“This being an annual endeavour, each year the best baristas in the country will get together to showcase their talent and put up a competitive event which benefits the industry as a whole,” KAS director Abdulrahman Almoayed said.
“Like many ideas good and simple, the followers for the Bahrain Coffee Championship have grown organically, over the last few months. The Bahrain Coffee Championship aims at keeping the competition fun, inclusive and a lighthearted pursuit that brings forth and amplifies talent in Bahrain.”
According to Projekt8 chief executive Ali Mudara the Bahrain Coffee Championship aims to provide an incentive and give recognition to those who are aiming to serve the perfect cup of coffee to their customers.
